|Timo’s Pick – Gangsta Pat – Deadly Verses
Deadly Verses is one of the better old school hiphop albums out there. The aggression of Gangsta Pat (Memphis, Tennessee) is amazing. His spits are rapid and cruel. Some real old school stuff. Definitely a recommendation for hiphop lovers.
|Chris’s Pick – Maoupa Mazzocchetti – Glow In The Dark
Listen to Maoupa Mazzocchetti. The producer from Brussels overwhelms you with a variety of harsh, industrial and raw sounds. After previous releases on labels as Unknown Precept and Mannequin Records, he now comes with a release on the Amsterdam based label Knekelhuis. This will be Knekelhuis its 6th release after releasing 5 other banging underground records, that you should definitely check out.
|Sebastian’s Pick – Future City Dating Service – JK/47 . Animal FirePower . GHOSTWVLF
Are you into Cyberpunk, are you into 80’s sci-fi and anime influences or just like Ｖａｐｏｒｗａｖｅ. Well then I suggest you this marvelous artist straight from california USA.
JK/47 collabed with some other artists with some similair goal to create a nice experiment for the listener, this album really took me into a cyberpunk like future vibe where I would constantly stargaze and be at ease, I hope you will enjoy this album or any of his work like I do if your into this style of music.
|Jules’s Pick – Bôa – Twilight
Bôa is an alternative band based in the UK, this album is very mellow and relaxing but still keeps your attetion. “Duvet”, which was used as the theme song for the anime series Serial Experiments Lain is Bôa’s best known song among people.
|Mac’s pick – Frankie Cosmos – Next Thing
Frankie Cosmos is an indie band formed by Greta Kline. Next Thing is the second studio album and was released on Bayonet Records. All the songs are about simple things in life and finding joy in it. With songs of just a minute long this album can be on for hours without getting sick of it.
|Luuk’s Pick – The Growlers – City Club
The Growlers is a surf rock/garage band from California. You might know them from Beach Goth, or their previous album Chinese Fountain. Their new album City Club is produced by Julian Casablancas, who you might know from the New York legends: The Strokes. You can hear his sound back in the songs. The song ‘Dope On a Rope’ is a masterpiece, just as ‘Too Many Times’ where you can clearly hear The Strokes sound, what isn’t a bad thing at all. This is definitely a recommended album for people who like bands like the Black Lips or King Tuff ways to lose weight quickly.
|Jerry’s Pick – Childish Gambino – “Awaken, My Love!”
“Awaken, My Love!” is the third album of Donald Glover, better known as Childish Gambino. It was released on December 2. It’s a sound of Gambino, that we’ve never heard before. The album takes you into a story about life. It’s fully produced by Ludwig Göransson and it contains no featurings by other artists. The album is released by the label Glassnote Records, just like the earlier albums. If you like R&B or Funk, this album is definitely something for you!
